MARY
ELIZABETH (LEACH) RAINES, the
Faculty Director of the Academy for Professional Hypnosis Training,
has been a certified professional instructor and adjunct faculty
member for the National Guild of Hypnotists for over eight years, and
has also conducted workshops and seminars for the American Board of
Hypnotherapy, International Hypnosis Federation and Mid-America
Hypnosis Convention. She has taught self-hypnosis and related imagery
classes for the Continuing Education Department of the University of
Wisconsin since 2004.
She
is director of Laughing
Cherub Unlimited,
founder of the Midwest
Professional Hypnosis Associates,
and the creator of the inspirational Laughing
Cherub Self-improvement CD series.
She
developed and taught the first Guided Imagery Certification course
ever offered by the National Guild of Hypnotists at their summer
institute, and teaches self-hypnosis for the Continuing Education
Department of the University of Wisconsin.
In
addition to Ms. Raines' work with private clients in her clinical
hypnotherapy practices in Arizona, California and Wisconsin, she is a
dynamic workshop leader and lecturer. She has had advanced training
in many adjunctive healing modalities.
Mary
Elizabeth Raines has been hypnotizing people since she was 14 years
old, and has been training top hypnotists for the past eight years.
Her formal education was in piano performance at the New England
Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA, and has included independent
studies in film at UW-Oshkosh.
Well
versed in all areas of hypnosis, she is also a professional stage
hypnotist, providing laughter and wholesome entertainment for
audiences as Lady
Rainey.
A
writer, playwright & journalist who has won regional, state and
national awards for her work, Ms. Raines has been associate editor of
a national hypnosis magazine and is a regular contributor to
professional hypnosis magazines, including the Hypno-Gram,
the Hypnotherapy Journal (U.K.),
the Link,
and publications of the International Medical & Dental Hypnosis
Association and the International Hypnosis Federation. Her written
material can be found in three books about hypnosis, including
"The Consumer's Guide to Hypnosis," published by the
National Guild of Hypnotists, in which she contributed the chapter on
Guided Imagery. According to the National Guild of Hypnotists, Raines
is "recognized as one of the leading practitioners of the art
and science of hypnotism."
